MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-BRITISH GT team 2 Seas Motorsport had twice the reason to celebrate last night after posting a sensational double in the 2025 British GT Championship, winning the weekend’s two races at Snetterton Circuit in the UK.
The 2 Seas pairing of Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss in the team’s #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo powered to a pole-to-flag victory in the day’s opening hour-long event, which marked the sixth round of the season.
Their teammates Kevin Tse and Maximilian Goetz then followed suit, winning yesterday’s second race – round seven – in 2 Seas’ #18 contender, also from pole.
Tse and Goetz were also on the podium as runners-up in the day’s opening event to join Dawson and Jewiss in a 2 Seas one-two.
The fantastic results helped 2 Seas extend their advantage on both championship standings for GT3 teams and drivers.
2 Seas are co-owned by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
In yesterday’s first race, Dawson and Jewiss did well to manage their drive as they built a comfortable gap of more than 11 seconds with under half-an-hour remaining. Tse and Goetz had moved up to second from third on the grid by then, and masterfully defended their position until the chequered flag from a hard-charging #78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 of Barwell Motorsport.
Dawson and Jewiss took their victory with a 7.872 seconds gap from Tse and Goetz, while Barwell’s Sandy Mitchell and Alex Martin joined them on the podium 8.649s behind.
“We’ve been planning for this since [the previous round in] Spa – working hard,” said Dawson after the race. “We went in a different direction this morning with the set-up with the little bit cooler conditions. The gamble on the car paid off and it was a peach.”
Dawson and Jewiss claimed their second victory this season for 2 Seas, having also previously taken first place in the 2025 season-opener at Donington Park in April.
In yesterday’s second race, Tse and Goetz were this time on pole and they mirrored their teammates’ performance from the earlier event.
They enjoyed clean air in the front heading into the closing stages, building a gap of nearly 20 seconds from Barwell, who were battling with Optimum Motorsport in their #77 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
Tse and Goetz eventually crossed the finish line 13.962s from Barwell’s Mitchell and Martin. Their teammates Rob Collard and Hugo Cook in their #1 car finished third, 23.194s from the winners.
Dawson and Jewiss had to settle for seventh in the classification, 37.677s behind their triumphant teammates.
“We had a great weekend – since the beginning, we had a great car to drive, great balance, and good confidence,” said Goetz following their win.
“We’ve been testing last week, which helped a lot for my confidence, and quali was key. Starting from P1 and sitting in clean air up front with new tyres at the start of the race was key, and I could pull a seven-second gap. We had a perfect pit stop and then Kevin did a perfect job in the end to control it.”
It was also the second victory of this campaign for Tse and Goetz, who had claimed round four at Oulton Park in May.
The 2025 British GT Championship now heads for its last two meetings of the calendar. Round eight is scheduled for August 23 and 24 at Brands Hatch, and then the ninth and final round will again be at Donington Park, scheduled on October 4 and 5.
