BOXING – KHK team member Lawrence Okolie from the UK retained his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver heavyweight title after a dominant victory against Kevin Lerena of South Africa during the Undisputed Fight Week events in London.
Okolie claimed a unanimous decision win in his 10-round bout, which was held at Wembley Stadium late Saturday night as part of the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Two.
Okolie was in complete control of the fight, in which he secured his victory with scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91.
Bahrain Boxing Federation technical director and boxing national team head coach Tony Davis was in attendance at the fight in support of Okolie.
The 32-year-old now boasts an impressive record of 22 wins in 23 bouts with 16 knockouts. He has held world championships in two weight classes, including the WBC bridgerweight title in 2024 and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight title from 2021 to 2023.
