Famous Lebanese musical artist Ragheb Alama has been banned from performing in Egypt following a controversial incident that took place during one of his recent concerts.
Several female fans climbed onto the stage, giving Alama hugs and kisses on the cheeks, with one fan in particular kissing him on the lips.
During a press conference, a police captain stated that the observed behaviour was "unbecoming of Egyptian society," described it as "disgusting," and affirmed that it "won't be allowed again."
The Egyptian Musicians Syndicate subsequently issued a ban on Alama performing in the country, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
