Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received yesterday Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj.
The meeting was held as part of Shaikh Khalid’s keenness to follow up on infrastructure projects and sports facilities in the kingdom.
Shaikh Khalid praised the fruitful cooperation between the GSA and the Works Ministry, and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to accelerate the pace of work to develop and maintain sporting venues, in line with the GSA’s strategy to advance the kingdom’s sports sector and provide a professional environment that contributes to achieving success.
Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the progress of several vital projects in Bahrain, and highlighted the importance of ensuring the highest standards in order to meet the needs of national federations and clubs.
For his part, the Works Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Khalid for his support and interest in strengthening the sports sector.
He stressed the ministry’s keenness to harness all capabilities to complete the projects in accordance with Shaikh Khalid’s directives, and in partnership with relevant authorities.
