Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday chaired a meeting at Riffa Palace to review the latest developments of the National Afforestation Plan and the Bahrain Mangroves Initiative.
He affirmed Bahrain’s steadfast commitment to implementing strategies aimed at sustaining natural resources and protecting the environment, in support of the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad and supported by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the meeting, he was briefed on the progress of the National Afforestation Plan and the Bahrain Mangroves Initiative.
He praised the efforts of all the entities involved, as well as the national and community initiatives that have contributed to their advancement.
Shaikh Mohammed highlighted that these initiatives represent a model of integration between development priorities and environmental conservation.
He also noted the significant progress achieved in the implementation of these plans, made possible through the dedication and efforts of all those involved as part of Team Bahrain.
He reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for international efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change through diverse environmental projects and initiatives, underscoring the kingdom’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
