TRIATHLON – BAHRAINI competitor Mai Alhaji clinched first place in her race category at the 2025 Ironman 70.3 Salalah event in Oman.
Alhaji triumphed in the women’s 40-44 division while also placing fifth amongst all women’s participants in the race, which featured a 1.9-kilometre swim, a 90.1km cycle, and a 21.1km run.
Alhaji completed the race in a new personal best time of five hours nine minutes and 42 seconds.
Her impressive performance earned her a spot in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France, in 2026.
“This achievement is not only for me, but also for everyone who supported me,” said Alhaji. “I will continue to work hard to represent Bahrain honorably in the next championship.”
She emphasised that her victory was the result of months of training, commitment, and dedication.
