HORSERACING – RASHID Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) announced yesterday that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with Investcorp, a global investment management firm specialising in alternative investments.
This comes in line with the directives of the REHC High Committee, chaired by Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and in recognition of the importance of building local and international partnerships to support the development of horseracing.
The partnership marks another milestone in the distinguished collaborations within the horseracing sector in the kingdom.
The agreement was signed by REHC CEO Yusuf Osama Buheji and Investcorp distribution global head Yusef Al Yusef.
Under the agreement, Investcorp will sponsor one of the fixtures of the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival this 2025-26 season.
Buheji affirmed that horseracing in Bahrain enjoys significant support and attention, in addition to the qualitative development seen through REHC’s distinguished events and international races. He noted that this progress has attracted numerous entities and investors, both from within the kingdom and beyond, to establish partnerships and sponsorships that support this vital sport.
Buheji also expressed his gratitude to Investcorp’s management for their interest and commitment to this partnership, which reflects the company’s role in supporting the sports sector. He emphasised that the club continues to work on creating an ideal environment that enhances the attractiveness of investment in horseracing, thereby contributing to achieving its desired development goals.
For his part, Al Yusef conveyed Investcorp’s pride in signing this partnership with REHC, emphasising that it aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting pioneering community initiatives and events in the kingdom, particularly those that reflect Bahrain’s rich heritage and highlight its growing position on the international sports scene.
He added that horseracing in Bahrain is a promising sector witnessing continuous growth and development that encouraged Investcorp to support efforts to advance this sport, which enjoys widespread interest locally and internationally.
