CRICKET – Rare Inco cricket team secured two emphatic victories in consecutive weeks in the Khalid Bin Hamad Corporate Cricket League.
The team showcased their strength with a commanding eight-wicket triumph over the Secure Services Lanka Lions, which they followed with a 46-run win against Vector One.
Against Secure Services Lanka Lions, Rare Inco’s bowlers rose to the occasion, limiting their opponents to a modest total of 146/8.
The chase was then masterfully executed by the Rare Inco batters, who reached the target with a staggering four overs to spare, winning by eight wickets.
The team carried this formidable momentum into their ensuing match against Vector One, setting a competitive target of 190 runs for their rivals.
However, it was their bowling attack that stole the show, putting on a clinic of precision and pressure to dismantle the Vector One batting line-up, ultimately restricting them and sealing a massive 46-run victory.
The cornerstone of Rare Inco’s successful run has been the sensational form of their star batter, Abdul Basit. In a remarkable display of consistency and power-hitting, Basit was the architect of both victories.
He blazed his way to a brilliant 65 from 43 balls in the first match, firmly establishing himself as the team’s batting lynchpin, before scoring 81 runs off just 50 deliveries in the latter.
Rare Inco team mentor Mohamed Rafi expressed his immense satisfaction with the squad’s performance. “We are incredibly proud of the boys,” stated Rafi.
“Such results make the entire management proud of the team, and the way the group has come out after the break brings more energy and enthusiasm.”
“The dedication and hard work are clearly paying off on the field.”
When asked about the team’s ambitions, Rafi added: “Hopefully, if this winning streak continues, we are aiming to be the front runners for the championship.”
