His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has directed the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry to continue following up on the completion of plans for implementing the Bahrain-Qatar Causeway project.
The Cabinet, chaired by HRH Prince Salman at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, welcomed the announcement of passenger ferry services between Bahrain and Qatar.
It reviewed a report submitted by the Transportation and Telecommunications Minister on this development.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister directed that the ferry route be utilised to enhance co-operation and connectivity between the two countries through tourist and commercial cargo operations, including the transport of passengers and vehicles.
The session also highlighted the importance of the talks held by His Majesty King Hamad with Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Malaysia, during his state visit to Bahrain.
The Cabinet noted that the outcomes of the visit have deepened bilateral ties and reflect the two countries’ shared commitment to further strengthening their partnership.
