His Majesty King Hamad, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who arrived in Bahrain last night to attend the 46th GCC Summit today as a guest of honour.
His Majesty welcomed Prime Minister Meloni and thanked her for accepting the invitation to attend the summit, noting that the participation reflects the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Italy.
He commended the strong Bahrain-Italy relations, noting the ongoing interest in supporting their development across various sectors.
He also praised the constructive efforts of the Italian premier in the advancement of bilateral ties and expressed appreciation for Italy’s important contribution to international peace and security.
The leaders discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Meloni expressed gratitude to the King for the invitation to attend the GCC Summit and to meet His Majesty and the leaders of the GCC states.
She praised the King’s role and commitment to enhancing the longstanding relations and advancing co-operation between the two countries for the benefit and prosperity of their peoples.
The King later hosted a dinner in honour of Prime Minister Meloni and the accompanying delegation.
