SHURA Council’s Public Utilities and Environment Committee head Dr Mohamed Ali Hasan Ali met Serbian Ambassador Tatjana Garcevic to discuss preparations for Bahrain’s participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians 2026, scheduled to take place in Belgrade from tomorrow to Thursday.
The meeting reviewed co-ordination efforts to support Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation and ensure its effective participation in the conference, organised by the IPU in co-operation with the National Assembly of Serbia.
Dr Ali highlighted the conference’s role in promoting women’s participation in parliamentary and public life and facilitating the exchange of international experiences on equality, empowerment, and decision-making. He also praised Serbia’s efforts in hosting the event and strengthening parliamentary dialogue and co-operation.
The ambassador affirmed Serbia’s commitment to supporting Bahrain’s delegation and underscored the growing ties between the two countries across various sectors.
