Two students in Kannur district of Kerala, India, were arrested on Friday for halting a long-distance train, just to shoot Instagram reels.
The incident took place around 1.50 am on Friday. The two students, around 18 years old, allegedly stopped a train which had just left Thalassery railway station by mimicking an emergency railway signal. They reportedly stood by the tracks and held a bright red light, signalling danger ahead. This forced the loco pilot to stop as a safety measure.
The train immediately resumed its journey, although it experienced a brief delay due to the actions of the teenagers.
The Railway Protection Force promptly initiated an investigation after the loco pilot reported the incident.
The duo was arrested, and their phones, used to film the incident, were confiscated.
They were later released on bail after their parents were summoned to the police station.
