PARA BADMINTON – THE kingdom has stepped up its preparations to host the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 from February 8 to 14.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) event will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It is being organised by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) in co-operation with the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
BPC president Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa affirmed his pride and appreciation for the generous patronage the championship enjoys, noting that this support represents significant backing for the Paralympic movement in the kingdom and reflects the great confidence in Bahrain’s capabilities to host and sporting events to the highest international standards.
The Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 is set to take place at Isa Bin Rashid Sports Halls at Isa Sports City in Riffa. It is one of the most prominent international tournaments on the Paralympic sports calendar, and is expected to witness wide participation from the world’s elite players.
Bahrain’s hosting of this event represents a significant milestone, as the BWF Para Badminton World Championships are taking place for the first time in the Middle East.
