THE Bahrain Ship Repairing and Engineering Company (Basrec) has won the Best Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Practices in Ship Repair Operations accolade as part of the Global Economics Awards 2025, which recognises leading institutions across various industrial and economic sectors.
This achievement comes in recognition of Basrec’s commitment to applying the highest standards of health, safety and environmental protection across all its operational activities, as well as its continuous efforts to provide a safe and sustainable working environment in ship repair yards. The company also adheres strictly to internationally-recognised standards in occupational safety and marine environmental protection.
Basrec board chairman Fawzi Kanoo said: “We’re proud of this achievement, which confirms Basrec’s steadfast commitment to protecting its people, preserving the environment and applying the highest standards of operational excellence.
