Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj conducted a field visit to a number of main roads across the four governorates to review the efforts of the rain emergency team and monitor operations on the ground to ensure smooth traffic flow during rainfall.
He confirmed that the main road network and tunnels remain open and operating safely, noting that rainwater accumulation had been observed on some roads and is being addressed immediately by the rain emergency team in accordance with approved plans.
He noted that the rain emergency team has been operating at full capacity since the start of rainfall to maintain traffic flow and road safety by draining accumulated rainwater from main roads that serve as major traffic routes linking different areas of the kingdom.
Mr Al Hawaj added that the ministry continues to implement its comprehensive plans for the rainy season by intensifying the cleaning of rainwater drainage networks and deploying tankers and pumps at priority locations.
