The Kingdom of Bahrain today showed its resolve over Iranian attacks with a commitment to address damage caused by incoming missiles and drones ... as volunteers rushed to help those affected.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa yesterday chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, which commended the kingdom’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, protecting citizens and residents, and preserving national achievements.
It also lauded the effectiveness of Bahrain’s security, defence and civil systems in responding to the Iranian attacks that targeted civilians, residential buildings, private property and facilities.
In this regard, Shaikh Khalid directed relevant authorities to address damage to civil infrastructure caused by the attacks and to rehabilitate it to ensure the continued provision of vital services at the highest levels of efficiency, while working to further develop them.
The committee also expressed appreciation for the efforts of all entities concerned and for the solidarity and national awareness demonstrated by citizens, noting their unity in supporting the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. It highlighted that these challenges would further strengthen national unity and determination to move forward with confidence towards continued development and prosperity.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani affirmed that the hostile Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, other GCC member states and Jordan, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, private property, as well as economic and oil facilities, constitute a grave violation of the Charter of the United Nations, the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighbourliness.
He underscored that such acts represent a direct threat to regional and international security and peace.
The minister said that these appalling Iranian aggressions, which terrorise innocent civilians and peaceful residents, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, are entirely unjustifiable, especially in light of the kingdom’s and the GCC and Arab states’ steadfast commitment to peace, dialogue, diplomacy and mediation as strategic options for resolving disputes.
