BAHRAIN rose to 19th place overall on the Fiba 3x3 Men’s Federation Ranking in an unprecedented achievement that reflects the game’s rapid development in the kingdom.
Bahrain are also ranked fourth in the Asia Pacific and first in the Arab world, reinforcing its position as one of the most prominent rising powers in 3x3 basketball at the continental and international levels.
Bahrain’s latest classification amongst men’s national teams is a major jump from its previous ranking of 47th in its last edition issued in October of last year.
This significant progress reflects the vast development of the 3x3 game driven by the Bahrain Basketball Association through the organisation of local competitions and the expansion of the field of participants, in addition to an active presence in international tournaments approved by Fiba.
This past period also witnessed the holding of the first Bahrain 3x3 Basketball League, which featured a wide participation of national clubs.
Bahrain’s 3x3 men’s and women’s national teams were also gold-medallists and silver medal winners, respectively, in the Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) 3x3 Championships, held in Muscat, Oman, in November of last year.
Bahrain’s Seef and Riffa teams also participated in the Fiba 3x3 World Tour – the game’s most prestigious circuit with tournaments being held around the world.
The nationals are also set to compete in the men’s and women’s competitions at the Fiba 3x3 Asia Cup 2026.
The tournament is scheduled for April 1 to 5 in Singapore, with the Bahrainis amongst 24 men’s squads and 22 women’s outfits.
