BNet chief executive officer Ahmed Al Doseri affirmed that fibre Internet service speeds in Bahrain remain within normal levels and have not been negatively affected by the geopolitical developments in the region.
In a statement to our sister publication Akhbar Al Khaleej, Mr Al Doseri said that reports circulating about a decline in Internet speeds are inaccurate.
He explained that the average daily usage does not exceed about 15 per cent of the total capacity of the national telecommunications network, indicating the availability of significant capacity to meet demand for Internet services without any impact on service quality.
He added that the user experience is influenced not only by the external network, but also by factors within the home – such as the quality of internal wiring and the performance of Wi‑Fi equipment responsible for distributing Internet speeds across different areas of the house.
