CRICKET – THE Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF), in collaboration with the Bahrain Heart Saver Group, organised yesterday a comprehensive cardiac screening and consultation camp for BCF players and officials.
The initiative, held at the BCF office, was conducted as part of the federation’s continued commitment towards player health, fitness, and overall well-being, ensuring that athletes remain medically fit both on and off the field.
The camp witnessed the participation of approximately 68 attendees, including 20 women and 48 men, representing various BCF squads and departments.
It was supported by a distinguished team of cardiologists and medical professionals, including Dr Syed Raza from Awali Hospital, Dr Abdul Azeez from BSH, Dr Shayma El Sayed from Al Salam Hospital, Dr Zahra Khalifa from Zahra Khalifa Clinic, and Dr Mohammad Salman from Al Maliki Hospital.
The medical and volunteer support team included Mohammad Neyaz Ullah, Burooq Sulaiti, Yateesh, Feddah Ahmad, and Abdul Salam.
A series of important medical examinations and consultations were conducted during the camp, including 2D echocardiograms (structural heart assessments), ECGs (rhythm and electrical activity evaluation), blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, doctor consultations, and medical reviews.
BCF advisory board chairman Mohammad Mansoor expressed his sincere appreciation to all the doctors, hospitals, specialists, volunteers, and officials who contributed to the successful organisation of the camp. He stated that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening player welfare, fitness, and long-term athlete development, while also promoting greater awareness regarding preventive healthcare and cardiac safety within the sporting community.
The BCF also extended special thanks and gratitude for the valuable permission, encouragement, and continuous support received from the leadership and stakeholders who made the health initiative possible.
