USS Gerald R Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, experienced a fire that originated in the ship’s main laundry area, said statement.
“The cause of the fire was not combat-related and is contained,” the Fifth Fleet said in a statement yesterday.
“There is no damage to the ship’s propulsion plant, and the aircraft carrier remains fully operational.”
It added that the two sailors are in stable condition.
The ship is currently operating in the Red Sea in support of US-led Operation Epic Fury against Iran.
