A marathon runner just learned the importance of keeping your eye on the prize after he lost a race by celebrating too early.
Videos from the Delaware Marathon in the US show frontrunner Carson Mello celebrating on the way to the finish line. But right behind him is 24-year-old Joshua Jackson, sprinting to make the finish line too.
With just metres left in the race, Jackson surged past Mello to claim the victory, leaving spectators and Mello himself stunned.
The crowd can be heard erupting in disbelief at what they had just witnessed.
Jackson finished with an impressive 2:43:11 and beat Mello by just two seconds.
The video of the event, which took place on April 19, has gone viral since and amassed over 700,000 likes and over 9.5 million views on Instagram.
