The specialised medical and surgical team of the Saudi Conjoined Twins programme has successfully completed the 18.5-hour separation of Filipino twins Klea and Maurice Ann at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh.
Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief centre (KSrelief), and head of the team Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah confirmed that this operation, regarded as one of the most complex cases globally, concluded with the successful completion of the fourth and fifth stages involving skull closure and reconstruction, following the successful completion of the initial three stages of the operation.
Al Rabeeah expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince for their continuous support of the programme, He noted that this patronage enables the Saudi team to provide world-class specialised care, improving the quality of life for families and reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership in international humanitarian and medical fields.
