The national media in Bahrain played a pivotal role in confronting the Iranian aggression and countering misleading campaigns through the rapid dissemination of accurate information, enhancing public awareness, and reinforcing stability amid the exceptional circumstances witnessed in the region, Information Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi has affirmed.
This came during the minister’s visit to our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej – marking Bahrain Press Day – where he met its Editor-in-Chief Anwar Abdulrahman and a number of leading staff members.
Dr Al Nuaimi praised the newspaper’s patriotic stances and sense of national responsibility by conveying facts, calling things by their proper names, and shaping public awareness during the recent events.
The minister explained that the success of the national media during this period was the result of effective co-ordination with the security authorities, as well as integrated efforts with the National Communication Centre.
This helped counter rumours and misleading campaigns and present an accurate and credible coverage of the events, he said.
He stressed that the current phase requires continued development of media work and more professional readiness to face challenges.
He underscored the importance of disclosing information with speed and accuracy to protect the society from rumours.
Mr Abdulrahman expressed his pride in the minister’s visit, affirming the newspaper’s commitment to continuing its national role in defending the truth, serving the nation, and promoting a media message based on professionalism and responsibility.
