Bahrain's Rashed Sanad and Mohammed Abbas Abdulwahab barged into the men’s doubles semi-finals yesterday at the fourth GCC Games in Doha, Qatar.
Sanad and Abdulwahab earned their spot after defeating Qatar’s Ahmed Korani and Sultan Alkuwari 3-0 in their quarter-final contest.
Meanwhile, their fellow-Bahrainis Sayed Murtadha Mahfoodh and Elyas Alyasi narrowly missed out on a spot in the last four after losing 2-3 to the Qatari pair of Mohammed Abdulwahab and Abdullah Abdulwahab.
Also making it through yesterday were the Saudi tandems of Ali Alkhadrawi and Abdulaziz Bushulaybi and Khaled Alshareif and Salem Alsuwailem.
Alkhadrawi and Bushulaybi won against Ali Alhawai and Essa Alblooshi of the UAE 3-0, while Alshareif and Alsuwailem overcame Ahmed Al Riyami and Muhannad Al Balushi of Oman 3-0.
