Bahrain's star cueists, brothers Hussain Maroom and Haider Maroom, continue to eye berths in the semi-finals of the men’s nine-ball singles tournament at the fourth GCC Games in Doha, Qatar.
Both players split their two matches yesterday as they got their bids underway at Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Hall.
Hussain first edged past Abdulaziz Alamoudi of Saudi 8-7 but then lost to Sulaiman Gholoum of Kuwait 5-9.
Haider beat Meshari Bouhaimed of Kuwait 8-4 in his opening contest but then suffered a 4-7 setback against Bashar Husain of Qatar.
They both continue their medal bids today.
