Riffa Views International School (RVIS) celebrated the graduation of its 11th cohort – The Class of 2026 – during a ceremony held at Bahrain National Theatre, honouring 23 students as they marked the completion of their secondary education and are now prepared to embark on the next stage of their academic and professional journeys.
The ceremony celebrated the graduates’ achievements and the academic and personal successes they attained throughout their years at RVIS.
It also recognised the invaluable contributions of parents and faculty members, whose support and dedication played a vital role in the students’ educational journey.
The event was attended by graduates’ parents, families and friends, alongside distinguished guests, members of the Board of Trustees, faculty members and the wider RVIS community. The programme featured student speeches, video presentations highlighting key milestones from the graduates’ school years, and the formal recognition of graduates through the presentation of diplomas.
RVIS Head of School, Michael Donaldson, said: “The Class of 2026 has shown maturity and determination throughout their final year at RVIS. More importantly, they leave the school with the confidence, skills and character to succeed in whatever path they choose next.
“We are incredibly proud of what they have accomplished and excited to see where their journeys take them.”
RVIS Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Hisham Abdulrahman Al Raee, added that this graduating class represents the values that RVIS strives to instill in every student, foremost among them academic excellence, integrity, leadership and service to the community.
“We take great pride in their accomplishments and extend our sincere appreciation to parents and faculty members for their continued support and commitment throughout the students’ journey at the school,” he said.
The Class of 2026 pupils has faced unprecedented challenges during their school years, such as a pandemic and, more recently, Iranian aggression.
During the ceremony, Tegan Harrison received the Valedictorian Award for achieving the highest cumulative GPA, while Abdulaziz Zaatari was named Salutatorian for earning the second-highest GPA in the graduating class. Abdulaziz was also presented with the Dolphin Award in recognition of his academic excellence, leadership and dedication to the RVIS community and the delighted 18-year-old said: “I’m proud of myself for being able to push myself, even though there were times when I felt like stopping and giving up, to be able to see it through and persevere and to accomplish all of my goals.”
He will soon start studying chemical engineering at the prestigious US University of Washington. The achievements of all the students reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching and learning, and the development of students who are prepared to succeed and contribute positively in an increasingly interconnected world, the school added. As they move forward, the graduates of the Class of 2026 carry with them the knowledge, skills and values developed throughout their years at RVIS, while remaining grounded in their Bahraini identity and values.
