An event aimed at raising public awareness of skin health was inaugurated yesterday by Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed.
The ‘Love Your Skin 2’ event, organised by the dermatology department at Government Hospitals, is being held at Marassi Galleria until tomorrow.
Government Hospitals chief executive officer Dr Mariam Al Jalahma, Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Lulwa Showaiter and a health sector officials attended the launch.
The event aims to highlight common dermatological conditions, as well as methods of prevention and treatment, while showcasing the specialised services offered by the dermatology department at Government Hospitals.
Dr Al Sayyed said skin health is a key component of overall well-being and stressed the importance of prevention, early detection and specialised consultation in reducing complications linked to many skin conditions.
Head of the dermatology department at Government Hospitals Dr Aysha Al Moosa said the event offers visitors direct consultations with specialists on skin, hair and nail conditions. It also features awareness sessions on common dermatological diseases, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, allergies, urticaria, hair loss, alopecia, vitiligo and pigmentation disorders.
