PARALYMPICS – THE Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) organised the first round of the National Para Athletics Championship, which was held over two days with wide participation from men’s and women’s Para athletes along with a number of able-bodied athletes.
The event was held as part of promoting sports inclusion and expanding participation in Para athletics.
The championship includes a number of competitions, most notably wheelchair races of various distances, in addition to field events such as shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw for both standing and seated categories.
The tournament aims to discover sporting talents, refine players’ abilities, and provide them with the opportunity to compete in an organised environment that contributes to raising their technical levels and enhancing their readiness for upcoming events.
The second round of the championship is scheduled to take place on July 15 and 16.
