As part of ongoing government efforts to enhance service quality, the Interior Ministry announced the development of a service for requesting permits to work during the evening period or until late hours at night in residential areas.
The digital service aims to streamline procedures for obtaining a permit from the competent security directorate to carry out work during that period, such as construction and maintenance, contributing to improved service delivery efficiency and faster application completion.
Under the service development process, the completion period has been reduced from five to two working days through the full automation of service procedures. The application mechanism has also been simplified, with fewer steps, contributing to enhancing service delivery efficiency.
Human Resources assistant undersecretary and Interior Ministry’s Development Team head Major General Adel Abdulla Ameen affirmed that the service is part of the Ministry’s adoption of innovative digital solutions that simplify procedures, improve service delivery efficiency, and enhance the experience of beneficiaries.
He added that developing the service reflects the Interior Ministry’s keenness to continue improving its government services, accelerating the completion of applications, increasing procedural efficiency, and providing easier and more effective digital services.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
This is based on proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret-shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as on the launch of guidance manuals and service-level agreements.
These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government’s digital transformation journey.
