Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has commended the role of the national Press as a key partner in supporting Bahrain’s continued development.
“Team Bahrain’s distinguished journalists continue to contribute to strengthening the kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements, in support of the comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad,” HRH Prince Salman said as he yesterday attended the 10th edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, held under his patronage.
He outlined that the kingdom’s Press plays a vital role in strengthening national unity, raising public awareness, reinforcing trust in official sources, reporting responsibly, and safeguarding the kingdom’s interests and achievements.
HRH the Deputy King noted that the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, since its inception, has fostered a culture of excellence and innovation, recognised outstanding national media talent, and encouraged continued creativity that enhances the status of Bahraini journalism.
He commended the commitment of the national media, highlighting their role in supporting Bahrain, raising public awareness, and addressing challenges with professionalism and competence, particularly during the hostile Iranian aggression against the kingdom.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed his pride in Bahrain’s Press, which has consistently demonstrated professionalism, responsibility and dedication in serving the nation and reporting with credibility.
HRH the Deputy King honoured the winners and extended his congratulations to them, wishing them continued success and encouraging them to build on their achievements through continued creativity and excellence.
Information Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for the unwavering support for the national Press, and to HRH Prince Salman for his patronage of the event.
The award winners expressed their appreciation to HRH the Deputy King for his ongoing commitment to supporting the kingdom’s media sector.
They affirmed that the awards are an honour as well as an incentive to continue contributing to the industry, serving the nation, and upholding the national media’s mission with professionalism and responsibility.
Several senior officials, journalists and media professionals also attended the ceremony.
