BAHRAIN Bourse (BHB) has announced that subscription for the BD200 million Government Development Bond Issue 48 opens today for both Bahraini and non-Bahraini investors.
Issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) on behalf of the government, the subscription through BHB’s primary market via registered brokers will run until tomorrow. Trading hours for the subscription are set from 9.30am to 1pm today and from 9.30am to 11am tomorrow. The minimum subscription limit is set at 500 bonds per investor.
The two-year bond, issued at a par value of BD1 each, carries an issue date of August 17, 2026 and will mature on August 17, 2028. It offers an annual fixed return of 7 per cent, payable semi-annually on February 17 and August 17 each year, with the first payout scheduled for February 17, 2027.
Once listed, the bonds are expected to be available for secondary market trading on BHB starting August 31, 2026.
The issue is directly guaranteed by the government.
