Bahrain participated in the commemorative event marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Co-operation in Southeast Asia (TAC), held in Manila, Philippines. The kingdom’s delegation was headed by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Indonesia and Asean Ahmed Al Hajri, with the participation of Abdulla Al Karbabadi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Bahrain Embassy in Manila.
Mr Al Hajri took part in a session titled ‘Strengthening Co-operation in Addressing Emerging Threats and Challenges,’ highlighting Bahrain’s support for enhanced dialogue and co-operation in addressing cross-border challenges and leveraging the TAC as a framework for consultation and confidence-building.
He stressed the importance of regional and international co-operation in addressing interconnected challenges, including maritime trade security, cybersecurity, energy infrastructure, and global supply chains.
He also underscored the TAC’s role in strengthening strategic trust and practical co-operation to advance regional and international security and stability.
