Bahrain yesterday welcomed the US decision to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The Foreign Ministry in a statement praised US President Donald Trump’s decisions in supporting Syria, and the efforts made by the US administration to promote security, stability, peace and development in the region, reiterating Bahrain’s unequivocal position in support of Syria’s security, stability, unity and territorial integrity.
Saudi Arabia also praised the US decision to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the announcement by the US confirming the decision to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism,” a statement read.
It congratulated Syria on this new step, wishing it “further security, stability, and prosperity, and continued progress in its reconstruction and development efforts,” in a way that would benefit the “aspirations of its people.”
