The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) has announced a 37-player preliminary list for the senior men's football national team's training period ahead of the 27th Gulf Cup.
The kingdom’s squad enter the eight-nation competition, scheduled for September 23 to October 6 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as defending champions.
The Bahrainis will begin their preparations for the tournament with a local gathering starting tomorrow evening at the BFA pitches in Riffa, to be supervised by head coach Dragan Talajic and his staff.
The preliminary list includes Mohammed Jassim Marhoon, Komail Al Aswad, Mahdi Abduljabbar, Ali Madan, Mahdi Humaidan, Sayed Dhiya Saeed, Abdulla Alkhalasi, Jassim Al Shaikh, Abbas Al Asfoor, Hamad Shamsan, Waleed Al Hayyam, Ahmed Bughammar, Khaled Al Khalaf, Bader Alasam, Hussain Zuhair, Abdulrahman Bassam, Hussain Abdulkarim, Ahmed Rabea, Hassan Alkarani, Saleh Alzubaidi, Omar Saber, Vincent Emmanuel, Sayed Mahdi Baqer, Hashem Sayed Issa, Mohammed Alrumaihi, Ahmed Dhiya, Ebrahim Alkhattal, Mohammed Abdulqayoom, Ali Hussain, Ali Aldoseri, Adam Fareed, Abdulla Osama, Sayed Ahmed Alwadaie, and goalkeepers Ebrahim Luthfallah, Godwill Chia Ndang, Omar Salem, and Mohammed Elgharably.
The BFA noted that a final roster for the Gulf Cup of an expected 26 players will be revealed on Thursday next week.
