MPs are preparing to consider extending the time available to challenge criminal orders from seven days to a full month, giving defendants more breathing space to decide whether to accept a penalty or take their case before the courts.
The proposed amendment to Article 277 of the Criminal Procedure Law is scheduled for debate during Tuesday’s parliamentary session, following a unanimous recommendation for approval by Parliament’s foreign affairs, defence and national security committee .
