AL HAMRA Cinema will be reopened to the public today following extensive refurbishments.
Renovation work took two months to complete with the cinema undergoing a modernised facelift, said Bahrain Cinema Company (Cineco).
Al Hamra Cinema, which was the first air conditioned theatre in Bahrain, was established in 1968.
The interiors of the cinema and the lobby area underwent extravagant redecoration, with additional renovated features including the incorporation of a separate balcony having spacious legroom and accommodating similar seating capacity.
“On behalf of Bahrain Cinema Company, I am thrilled to announce the completion of the renovation of the much enjoyed, go-to movie destination for expatriates in Bahrain,” said Cineco chief executive officer Ahmed Rashed.
“We are proud to present to our guests the remodelled cinema which is an embodiment of our continued dedication and obligation to the public.
“Furthermore, it is everything we envisioned it to be, now with an assured guarantee of quality time well-spent, paired with unrivalled entertainment technology to capture the true essence of the movie; once again reiterating our commitment to our customers.”
