Manama: Supreme Council for Environment chief executive Dr Mohammed Mubarak Bin Daina took part in a meeting held at UN headquarters on “Minamata Convention on Mercury”, a global convention aiming to protect human health and environment from the adverse effects of mercury.
The objective of the event is to get more countries to accept, approve or accede to the convention.
The Samoan Prime Minister and the Chadian Environment and Fisheries Minister took part in the event co-hosted by Japan, Switzerland, the US and Uruguay and moderated by United Nations Environment Programme (Unep) deputy executive director Ibrahim Thiaw.
