MANAMA: Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa yesterday stressed the need to steer clear of attempts to politicise Ashoora rituals.
He said the governorate has co-ordinated efforts with security and services authorities to examine the requirements of ma’atams and processions in Manama to ensure proper organisation of the occasion in a safe environment to avert violations.
He was speaking as he chaired the first co-ordination meeting to gauge the annual ritual’s needs in line with the leadership’s directives to hold religious occasions in a well-organised and secure environment.
