Riyadh: Saudi Arabia denied any alleged involvement in a plot to stage a coup in Qatar.
The Saudi Embassy issued a statement refuting allegations published in a Turkish magazine describing the claims as “total untrue and baseless”, reports Alriyadh.
Titled “Turkey foiled coup attempt in Qatar”, the report was republished by other Turkish media outlets, including the newspapers Yeni Şafak and Daily.
The statement condemned the involvement of the name of Saudi Arabia in such baseless allegations, adding that the country cited in the report – that is Qatar - has itself denied the claims.
The statement urged the media outlets to ensure accuracy and credibility and made it clear that Saudi Arabia reserves the right to take the necessary legal action.
