An event manager was arrested pending investigation for allowing a young woman to dance with boys at the heritage village of Jazan.
The department of tourism announced the measure in response to the public outrage at the video recording, which was posted online.
The video showed the girl dancing alongside young men on the stage of the heritage village, looking on Jazan panoramic corniche.
Social media users took to their accounts to slam the incident which, they said, violates Saudi social traditions and public decency, urging the authorities to take legal measures against the organisers of the ceremony.
The Tourism Development Board distanced itself from the event, saying that it was held without its official authorization.
The regulatory board ordered the organiser of the event to be arrested and referred for investigation.
