Manama: Audi Bahrain will be the main sponsor of Royal Golf Club’s 13th annual National Day Golf Tournament which will take place on the Montgomerie championship golf course on December 16 and 17.
The 36 hole, two-day tournament, which was created to promote friendship and unity between Bahrainis and expatriate residents of the island, will feature 50 expat golfers paired up with 50 Bahraini players. The first day of competition will be played in the two player scramble format while day two will be played in the two player better ball format. Awal Sports International will co-sponsor the event, providing side contest prizes for both days of the competition.
The event will include an international breakfast for all the competitors on day one and a traditional Bahraini breakfast on day two, followed by a morning shotgun start on both days. Day two will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony and an East meets West lunch where the winning pair with the best two day aggregate score will be announced.
The tournament has traditionally been very well supported by both Bahrainis and expats who all enter into the spirit of the occasion by donning red and white golfing attire in respect for Bahrain’s National Day.
“We’re very excited to have Behbehani Brothers and Audi Bahrain on board for this very popular tournament,” said Royal Golf Club General Manager Stephen Havrilla.
