Bahrain: Bahrain has opened a school in Egypt for 600 students.
This is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad, Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) honorary president.
RCO secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed inaugurated the school in Egypt’s Eastern Province during a ceremony held under the patronage of His Majesty’s personal representative for charity work and youth affairs and RCO chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser paid tribute to the King for his philanthropic initiatives to support people in brotherly and friendly countries which reflect his keenness to cement humanitarian ties with the rest of the world and assert distinguished relations with Egypt.
He also praised support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
He pointed out that the sustainable development policy is the strategy of RCO in all its humanitarian campaigns to assist countries all over the world.
Dr Al Sayed conveyed greetings of Shaikh Nasser, describing the school as a translation of deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Egypt.
He pointed out that the school would provide primary and intermediate education as well as literacy classes.
The school, he explained, was built in Abu Kabir Centre, in Abu Qoura village and can accommodate 600 students, which can be increased with the two-shift system.
It features 15 classrooms, a library, computer lab, science lab, rooms for administrative and educational staff, a playground for volleyball, football, handball and basketball, and a meeting hall.
Eastern Province Governor Dr Redha Abdul Salam thanked the King for his pioneering humanitarian initiative which underscores strong relations between the two countries.
