Kuwait City: Kuwaiti health authorities have lifted the ban on importing meat from Kenya after ensuring compliance with quality standards, Al Qabas reported.
Kuwait enforced the ban on November 8 after vets discovered high residues of animal medication in the imported meat.
The Kenyan government issued a statement welcoming the Kuwaiti decision to lift the ban and resume meat imports.
Kenya's Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Harry Kimtai said that strict measures would be stepped up to uncover any improper use of vet medication to ensure food safety and hygiene.
