MANAMA: Sinnad, a regional card processing service provider, has attained Payment Card Industry Personal Identification Number (PCI PIN) Security Requirements Version 2.0 certification for its platform in Bahrain.
A Bahraini registered company set up in 2009, Sinnad is a subsidiary of Benefit.
The certification follows an audit by SISA Information Security, a qualified security assessor and provider of PCI-validated solutions.
The standard lays down a set of requirements for secure management, processing and transmission of PIN during online and offline card transactions at ATMs and POS terminals to ensure that customers PIN data is not compromised during an electronic payment.
The requirements include management of cryptographic keys as well as management of cryptographic devices used in acquiring and processing or routing interchange PIN-based transactions.
“The certification is a recognition of our strict adherence to guidelines that safeguard consumers’ data during the transaction process through an added reliability and security measures,” said Sinnad general manager Rana Almaeeli.
“Achieving PCI PIN compliance is no longer an option, but a mandatory business requirement for any business that wants to put its customers’ data security first.
