More than 100 people attended the opening of an art exhibition titled ‘Women on the Rise’. Bahraini artist Safia Ali Kanoo opened the event being held under her patronage on the second floor of Harbour Gate at Bahrain Financial Harbour. The show features 40 works by 12 emerging women artists based in Bahrain and showcases a variety of mediums, representing various art styles. The artists featured are Fareeda Khalaf, Nawal Kamal, Narmeen Albaker, Rupal Kalpesh, Anastasia Kupchenko, Atifa Zainal, Miral Abid, Lamia Al Saie, Faten Odeh, Oksana Kadatskaya, Shaheera Zainal and Irina Kotova. Financial Centre Development Company chief executive Angus Campbell will be in attendance, accompanied by the artists and guests. The exhibition will run until February 19.
