Muscat: Oman announced that its overall oil and gas reserves increased last year.
Oil reserves topped 4.791 billion barrels last year, up by 51 millions barrels compared to 2017 output.
Gas reserves rose to 23.93 trillion cubic feet last year, up by around 0.96 trillion cubic feet compared to 2017.
The Ministry of Oil and Gas announced the updated figures in a press conference held today.
Undersecretary Salim Al Aufi said that the total cost of projects currently being implemented in the oil and gas sectors exceeded $22 billion, with a local added value of 40 per cent.
