A PRESTIGIOUS global award has been presented to the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) during a gala dinner held in London.
The Best Management of Scholarship Students Abroad was accepted by CPISP director Dr Cynthia Gessling at the 2019 BMI Global Scholarship Summit’s award ceremony held at Henry VIII’s Hatfield Hall.
She was accompanied by CPISP finance and admin affairs director Shatha Ahmed Ali.
The summit was attended by more than 250 participants from 55 countries while more than 200 representatives from international educational institutions attended the gala dinner during which four awards were handed out.
The Best Management of Scholarship Students Abroad was won by the CPISP while the Best Scholarship Platform for Students was awarded to The Dubai Police.
Meanwhile, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Colfuturo executive director Jeronimo Castro Jaramillo and the Best Scholarship Programme Benefiting Underprivileged Students was awarded to the Institute of International Education.
“The awards acknowledged great contributions to the international education industry,” said BMI chief executive Samir Zaveri on the occasion.
“Making our final selections was certainly a challenge and we extend a hearty congratulations to the winners and to all those who entered.”
Over the past 20 years, the CPISP has awarded 197 scholarships since its establishment in 1999 by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
It aims to prepare young talented Bahrainis by equipping them with the skills required to increase their contribution to Bahrain’s comprehensive development.
