Riyadh: The second largest oilfield in terms of output in Saudi Arabia has been restored to full production capacity following the terror attack on two Aramco-run plants last month.
The Khurais oilfield which recovered from the terrorist attack now produces 1.45 million barrels per day, said Aramco south section director-general Fahd Abdulkarim.
The attacks targetted the Abqaiq and Khurais plants, causing a spike in oil prices, fires and damage that halved the crude output of the world’s top oil exporter, by shutting down 5.7 million b/d of production.
In a statement on October 12, Abdulkarim said that the Khurais field has regained its pre-attack level output although it still bears signs of the shelling, Sabq reported.
