A BAHRAIN-BASED artist will celebrate the colour white in an exhibition on November 26.
‘Celestial White’, the exhibition by Aysha Hafuz, will be held under the patronage of Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women president Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, at Albareh Art Gallery in Manama.
Ms Hafuz’s sculptures aim to appeal to multiple emotions.
She sees the white not only as the master of all colours, but also as a form of radiant energy that raises tranquillity and meditation.
White in this case is characterised by a certain degree of neutrality and differs from other colours due to its characteristic lightness unlike what is seen in some of the base colours that are mixed together to produce a separate colour altogether.
Graphic art provides the basis for colour in terms of both construction and its expressive and visual connotations, although, in some cases, the colours become prominent and turn the work of art into a verbal and listening medium, represented in the sculptures created by the artist.
The launch event on Tuesday will go on from 7pm to 9pm and the exhibit will be open to the public until December 24.
