A cup of coffee in the morning is a great way to kick start your day, and now you have more reasons to enjoy it. A research by New York University has proven that coffee does a lot more than just getting you energized and ready for the day ahead.
A cup of coffee not just keep you awake, but also sharpen your memory. A daily caffeine intake helps to protect the brain from damage that causes diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is a great source of antioxidants, which can keep liver disease at bay.
Coffee can also reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and has been linked to a longer life span. Reduce your coffee intake if you have high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, or suffer from anxiety, says Loren Wissner Greene, MD, a professor at the New York University School of Medicine.
If it makes you too jittery, mix regular coffee with decaf. Avoid caffeine at least four hours before sleeping.
